It has amazing destruction scenes and plenty of exciting “escape from disaster” moments.

Although it is completely unrealistic, it is pure entertainment, and lots of fun.

See it on the big screen if you can.

Not gritty or realistic, but a pure fun swashbuckling adventure.
Errol Flynn did this role perfectly and makes Robin Hood the fun story it should be.

Back to the Future

A teenager goes back in time to 1955 but accidentally stops his parents from meeting. Now he must get them back together or he won’t exist.

A great 1980’s movie. Plenty of adventure and fun for all ages. A very popular movie in its time (top in the box office for 1985), and still very watchable. A classic time travelling movie.

A fun look at the future, and an amusing look at time travel to where you already exist.

Still great entertainment for the family.

Plenty of entertainment once again. This is better than the second movie and as enjoyable as the first.

Make sure you watch the first two before his one.

A very clever adventure. This is a fun family movie, children, teens, and adults should all enjoy it.

A runaway slave becomes a pirate.

A classic pirate movie and one of the best. Clear good and bad guys. Pirate action without the blood. Suitable for family viewing, except young children.

The pirate film by which all others are judged.

Cutthroat Island

A relatively simple pirate adventure story. The daughter of a pirate captain takes over the leadership of her crew and searches for some hidden treasure.

Although it is an unrealistic and fanciful depiction of pirates and their era in the Caribbean (or maybe because of that), it is still an enjoyable movie.

Plenty of action and entertainment, yet nothing offensive.

Day After Tomorrow, The

The world’s weather makes a quick change over just a few weeks, leading to massive storms, flooding, and general devastation.

Although this movie does deal with some serious issues, it is a visual feast of special effects, showing great big storms, tornadoes, waves, and floods destroying cities.

The well told story focuses on a group of people in New York and their survival.
