Cutthroat Island

Cutthroat IslandA relatively simple pirate adventure story. The daughter of a pirate captain takes over the leadership of her crew and searches for some hidden treasure.

Although it is an unrealistic and fanciful depiction of pirates and their era in the Caribbean (or maybe because of that), it is still an enjoyable movie.

Plenty of action and entertainment, yet nothing offensive.

The GooniesKids and young teenagers will love this.

A group of kids discover a map to pirate treasure and go exploring for it.

A little swearing by the kids in the movie, but not much.
Family adventure movie at its best.

This is a favourite of many who grew up in the 80′s

Indiana JonesProbably the ultimate in treasure hunting adventure movies. They mix a bit of archaeology (not realistic I’m sure), with a great adventure story. Lots of action, humour, chases, and great stunts.

Indiana Jones and the Raiders of the Lost ark involves the search for the Ark of the Covenant.

Indiana Jones and the Temple of Doom is the search for some missing magical Indian stones.

Indiana Jones and the Last Crusade is about the search for the cup of Christ.

Indiana Jones 4Indiana Jones returns nearly 20 years later.

Still has lots of fun and adventure, but many people think the treasure they search for is not as interesting as the first three.

The Mummy 2The Mummy Returns (The Mummy 2) is nearly as fun as the first movie in the series.

It is more of the same, but if you enjoyed The Mummy, you will probably enjoy this one too.

Big budget and lots of special effects.

Mummy: Tomb of the Dragon Emperor, The (The Mummy 3)

The Mummy 3The third in the Mummy series features more special effects, jokes, and fun.

However most people seem to agree that it was not as good as the first two.

If you liked the first two in the Mummy series then this is still entertaining, but don’t expect the great balance that particularly the first movie had.
